On The Record | An album discussion group

Come and join us for a casual evening of music chat! The theme for our inaugural event is – rather fittingly – iconic debut albums, and we will focus on two classics from British bands:

• Please Please Me, The Beatles
• Definitely Maybe, Oasis

Released three decades apart, these albums capture two distinct moments in UK music history, yet the connections and influences are striking.

Which album do you prefer? What are some other examples of debut records that changed an entire music genre? We'd love to hear your thoughts over a few casual drinks!

You don't need to be a music expert to be part of the conversation. We'll be taking an informal approach to the evening, much like a book club, and you are welcome to contribute as much or as little as you are comfortable.

We'll also dedicate some time before and after the main discussion for a broader chat about music, ideas for future events and wherever else the conversation takes us.
