Door County Multi-Day Fall Tour!

Details
Introduction: Celebrating our 10th season and 5th Annual Fall Tour (7th overall), join us on another guided bike camping trip, this time to Wisconsin's Cape Cod: Door County! Personally, this will be my fourth Door County Tour, and each time I go, there is something new to explore or a familiar site seen in a new light. If we are lucky, we might even see the leaves in peak color. While an exact itinerary is getting fine-tuned, a few highlights that are expected to be included on the tour:
- Potwatami, Newport, White Dunes, and Pennisula State Parks
- Multiple lighthouses
- Washington Island
- Sturgeon Bay and Little Sturgeon Bay
- Rustic Roads
- Annapee State Trail
- Al Johnson's 'Goat on the Roof' and other authentic and quirky restaurants
- ...and much more!
We hope to see you there!
Skill level: Intermediate. While most of the route is flat to rolling hills, there is some complexity to pack for a multi-day tour - especially in the fall.
Pace: Party (approx. 9-12 mph). We will have "checkpoints" for those who want to ride a little faster.
Length: 40-55 miles per day. The tour is expected to last 5-6 days with a built-in weather day.
Terrain: Mostly paved roads with some compact gravel at Annapee State Trail and at Potawatomi and Penninsula State Parks.
GPS Route: Coming soon.
Parking: TBD - we'll pick a park and ride in the southern Door Peninsula.
Time: *Arrival is 9:00 a.m., departure is 10:00 a.m.
*This is a placeholder for now and may change slightly as we get closer to the event.
Cost: $75-$125 estimated for camping and optional firewood, pending attendance. Cash at the event is preferred.
Campsite Amenities: Most, if not all, campgrounds should be modern with showers and flush toilet restrooms.
Services & Food: Coming Soon
Alternative Lodging: Coming Soon
Pre-ride tips: Organize and pack your gear several days in advance, tune up your bike if necessary, and take your packed bike for a short ride around the block. Does it feel balanced? These few steps will help you feel more confident on the morning of departure.

Final Notes: A trail pass is required. You can order a 2025 Trail Pass here on the Wisconsin Bike Fed: 2025 Wisconsin State Pass
Riders must have signed an online yearly liability Waiver and Contact Form. Helmets, lights, proper nutrition, and hydration are all encouraged. A minimum of two 16 oz. bottles of water and two energy bars daily are good starting points. Participants should be prepared to ride the entire route at their own pace. Please inform the leader if you abandon the ride or deviate significantly from the intended course.
We will cancel at least two hours prior if there is bad weather. Please be courteous to the organizers by RSVPing only if you intend to attend and keep your RSVP up to date. This is for the small minority - most of you are great, but repeated no-shows occupying valuable spots may result in your ban from the group. We reserve the right to replace it with a similar event or cancel due to a lack of interest, current events, or poor trail or road conditions.
Suggested Yearly Donation: $20
