Middleton-Waunakee-State Park Ramble

Introduction: Celebrating our 11th season, join us on another day ride starting from Madison/Middleton. With a route featuring Graber Pond, beautiful roads near Ashton, Waunakee Village Park, Bolz Conservatory, and Governor Nelson State Park, you'll likely find something to enjoy. Post-ride, we can try a nearby restaurant like Prairie Cafe and Bakery.

Time: 9:00 a.m. arrival, 9:15 a.m. departure
Skill level: Intermediate.
Intended Pace: 12 to 15 mph, no drop w/checkpoints for those who want to ride faster.
Length: 35± mi.
Terrain: 100% paved trails, roads, and streets with several rolling hills and mild climbs. Elevation difficulty: 5 out of 10.
Parking: Metro Park and Ride, Pheasant Branch Conservatory Parking Lot, or nearby street parking.

Final Notes: Riders must have signed the 2026 Waiver and Contact Form.

⚡ E-Bikes are welcome, but please reach out before reserving to ensure goals align. ⚡

Helmets, lights, proper nutrition, and hydration are all encouraged. A minimum of two 16 oz. bottles of water and two energy bars daily are good starting points. Participants should be prepared to ride the entire route at their own pace. Please inform the leader if you abandon the ride or deviate significantly from the intended course.
We will cancel at least 1 hour in advance if there is bad weather. Please RSVP only if you plan to attend, and keep your RSVP up to date. This is for the small minority - most of you are great, but repeated no-shows occupying valuable spots may result in your ban from the group. We reserve the right to replace it with a similar event or cancel if there's low interest, current events, or poor trail or road conditions.
