Please join us for the scenic backroads in Orange and Alamance counties! This will be our first time doing this ride in nearly four years! You can thank Alex, who puts the "ass" in "assistant organizer" (and also Bagley, who puts the "organ" in "organizer.")

This ride leaves from Charles Herman Wilson park in Carrboro and includes a stop at Saxapahaw General Store (http://www.saxgenstore.com), around mile 28, where we can get a snack. The route is about 48 miles in total. We anticipate an average pace of around 16.5 mph (14 mph for Bagley and 19 mph for Alex). A route map is at https://ridewithgps.com/routes/21511991 . Or you can ask your smartphone; just be aware that Siri may hear "Sexy Pull Hard" instead of "Saxapahaw", so you may have to type it in. If NOAA and NWS staff haven't all been fired by the time you get this notification, you can check the forecast here (http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?CityName=Carrboro&state=NC&site=RAH&textField1=35.9153&textField2=-79.0838&e=0#.Ulc_iFCTie0). Right now, the forecast for Saturday looks really good; we'll cancel the ride if there's more than a 70% chance of rain when I check it at 8 a.m. or if it's actually raining in the parking lot at 10 a.m.

As always, you'll need to bring one or preferably two bottles of water, a spare tube, a helmet, and other safety gear. But we'll being extras, so call us if you realize halfway to the ride that you are missing something!

After the ride, we'll head over to Steel String Brewery (http://steelstringbrewery.com/), about a mile from the park.
