Blazing Saddles Redux

Details
The August heat is back...and so is the popular Blazing Saddles Ride. Please join us for this wonderful ride on the country roads of Chatham County. Sunday's forecast is calling for highs near 90. Please arrive early so we can do the safety dance, introductions, and leave together promptly at 8:30. Bring plenty of water and whatever form of nutrition and electrolytes work for you.
This 40ish-mile route (https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49319377) heads west from Bottle Theory in Apex to Jordan Lake and south to Old US 1 where we'll have a planned convenience store rest stop at mile 22. We'll then work our way north on Beaver Creek and Farrington Roads back towards Bottle Theory. Given the predicted heat, we have options to add stops at Wilsonville (twice) for water if needed.
According to Ride with GPS, the terrain is rolling hills with about 1,500 feet of climbing. I plan on riding at about a 16mph average (+/- depending on the group). This is not a no-drop ride, but as long as you can maintain at least a 15mph average for the entire ride you won't ride alone.
We'll gather up for post-ride refreshments at Bottle Theory.
Again, please bring two water bottles, and as always, helmet, spare tube and basic tools are required.
If you haven't done so, please sign the digital waiver:
