Apex Doherty's 40 (Updated Route!)

Come join us for a tour of Apex and parts beyond before the cold weather descends upon our corner of the world. Chris Heinhold will be our fearless leader as he came up with the idea. This route hasn't been used for a while but includes some familiar roads and about 1,800 ft of climbing according to Ride with GPS (route revised 11/7/25 at 8:30am): https://ridewithgps.com/routes/53239006
It launches from Doherty's Irish Pub in Apex and includes the usual rolling terrain of the Piedmont. A rest stop is planned at the convenience store at Merry Oaks (mile 20). Average ride pace with be 16 mph, +/- depending on the group. We'll gather at Doherty's for post ride refreshments, following the usual On Draft tradition.
Please arrive early for the safety chat and introductions, and be ready to roll at 9:30. Bring plenty of water and whatever nutrition you want.
As always, helmet, water, and basic tools are required.
