We're talking animal volunteering, new friendships, post-volunteering brunches, spontaneous outings, and a group of people who actually want to do something meaningful with their free time. πβ¨
One Love Foundation is heading to the Miami Dade Animal Shelter for a special Day of Service, and this is about more than just one Sunday at the shelter. We're kicking off something bigger. ππΎ
With more than 700+ dogs between the Doral and Medley locations, the shelter needs all the help they can get! Each one has their own personality, needs, and story β and each deserves care while waiting for a family to call its own. ππ
We'll start with a presentation and a tour of the facility to learn more about the shelter's mission and the work that goes into caring for animals in need. Then, we'll roll up our sleeves and get a taste of what it's like to be a shelter volunteer through hands-on activities supporting the animals and their well-being. In the end, we will have the chance to register to become a regular volunteer to keep our impact alive!πΎπΆπ±
It's a great opportunity to experience animal welfare volunteering firsthand, learn about the different ways to get involved, and discover how you can continue making a difference beyond this one event!

### πΆ First Up: A Day of Service
We'll be visiting the Miami Dade Animal Shelter for an introduction to the shelter, a facility tour, and hands-on animal welfare activities.
We'll learn more about the shelter's mission before rolling up our sleeves to support the shelter dogs/cats. π
Expect a meaningful experience, plenty of furry faces, and the chance to meet people who share your love for animals and your desire to give back.
Important Tidbits: Volunteers must be at least 15 years old and accompanied by a parent/guardian. Volunteers should wear close toed shoes and long solid pants (jeans/khakis - no skirts, shorts, ripped jeans, open-toed shoes or leggings).

At One Love Foundation, we want this to be more than a one-time visit.
We're building a community of people who care about animal welfare and want to make giving back a regular part of their lives. Our goal is to organize recurring volunteer days at the shelter so we can continue showing up for the animals who need us while having some fun along the way! πΎ
We will plan social outings after our volunteer days, giving everyone an opportunity to connect, build friendships, and enjoy time together outside the shelter. Think brunch, coffee, or exploring somewhere new with people who share your values. βπ΄π΄
The heart of it all, though, is the impact we can make when we keep showing up.
We're building this community from the beginning, and you can be part of what it becomes. Whether you join us for a single Day of Service or eventually become a regular volunteer, you'll have an opportunity to contribute to something bigger than yourself. π

### π More Than One Day of Service
You will have the opportunity to take the next step and become a permanent shelter volunteer and expand your impact!
After our Day of Service, interested participants can request the sign up forms to begin the shelter's volunteer application and background clearance process.
The shelter requires a two-hour orientation, offered on:
ποΈ Saturdays at 10:00 AM
ποΈ The 1st or 3rd Thursday of each month at 5:00 PM
Once you've completed the shelter's requirements, there are many ways to get involved, including:
π Dog walking and cat enrichment - Walk, exercise, and socialize shelter animals.
π‘ Adoption support - Help prospective adopters connect with animals looking for homes.
π§Ό Animal care and bathing - Assist with grooming and other approved care duties.
π©Ί Clinic support - Support the shelter's healthcare team with approved tasks.
πΈ Photography assistance - Help animals get ready for photos that can introduce them to potential adopters.
π Mobile adoptions - Help bring adoptable pets into the community.
πΎ Puppy/kitten fostering - Provide a temporary home for eligible animals who need one.
π Special events, outreach, and more!
There's room to contribute in different ways depending on your interests, skills, eligibility, and the shelter's needs.
