Group meditation: meditating with a 'Beginner's Mind' 🧘♂️
Details
What do we mean when we say meditation? Are all meditation practices equal? In this session we'll explore the group's conceptions of the group what “counts” as meditation, cover the main common ways of meditating and discuss what each of them can bring to our practice. There might even be some that you might not have thought of as meditation before!
We’ll also be meditating together as a group.
🕒 Time: Doors open at 7:15, and we start the session at 7:30
📍 Location: We meet in the Wellington Friends Centre at the end of Moncrieff Street, up the steps and in the room to the right.
🧘♀️ Guided Meditation Journey: Ease into the world of meditation with a guided practice that embraces the essence of a "beginner's mind." Whether you're new to meditation or seeking fresh perspectives, this session will be your perfect starting point.
🗣️ Share and Connect: Engage in open discussions with fellow participants about your meditation experiences, questions, and curiosities. This is a space for learning, growth, and finding solidarity with others on a similar journey.
🌼 Embrace the Journey: The concept of the "beginner's mind" encourages us to approach life with openness, much like we do when we're new to something. Let go of preconceptions and step into the realm of meditation with a sense of wonder and exploration.
🔮 This session is perfect for anyone seeking to dip their toes into meditation, cultivate mindfulness, and learn more about the transformative power of a "beginner's mind." All backgrounds and levels of experience are welcome.
💻 Unable to join us in person? The session will also be streamed on Zoom, meeting room number 919-527-2569.
