🎆 Under The Stars With Perseids Meteor Shower🎆

The Perseid meteor shower is one of the best shooting star displays of the year and it's currently active. Come an join your fellow members for a night of sitting under the stars, enjoying watching this spectacular cosmic event. The Perseids are caused by Earth passing through debris — bits of ice and rock — left behind by Comet Swift-Tuttle which last passed close to Earth in 1992.

Things to bring with you: Its best to have a flashlight that has very low light or an off color like a red flashlight for walking around. Since the event will be pretty much be at supper time, feel free to bring food and drinks if you wish. Other things to bring are camping chairs and maybe a warm layer in case it gets breezy.

The parking fee is $9 ($3/per hour) for each vehicle. Carpooling is recommended. The map pin for event is set correctly. Once you have passed through the ranger post, make your second left in to the parking lot. Drive half way down the parking area and event will be at the shade structure half way down, on your left.
