We meet up on Zoom, chat for the first 10-15 min to give everyone a chance to get settled and decide on a game or two for the evening, and then we dive right in. All that's required is your presence and a willingness to either learn a new game, or quickly teach one you know well.

This should be fun - a few hours to hang out and play a fun board game and be social after a long Monday!

Adults only please!

Guests are welcome, but we may need to split into multiple groups to find suitable games for everyone to play. If you want to bring a guest that is interested in playing, please have them create their own Meetup account (it's free!) and sign up here, so we can have an accurate count for the evening.

Attendees will be free to move about the various rooms as they play games - with each room titled for the game being played. There is also a Lobby room for newcomers, so that I can help you find a game to play (especially if you arrive a little late). I will also be floating amongst the rooms and monitoring and making sure everyone is having fun, and I'm available to answer any questions.

Also, feel free to directly message me here on Meetup if you have any questions or suggestions. I look forward to meeting you and playing some fun games together!

Since there were some questions, I'm putting some common ones here:

Q: Do I have to show up right when the event starts to be able to play?
A: No, but please try to arrive within the first 15 minutes.

We break off into games after the first 15 minutes, and it may be a little wait before another table can be formed or opens up (usually less than 20 min). If you show up after the event start, please wait for the host to let you in, and they will help you find a game and get to playing as soon as possible. If you don't mind a little wait, show up and leave and come back whenever you feel like it, and we will try our best to accommodate you.

Q: What if I start a game and I hate it? Do I have to finish?
A: Please try your best to play to the end and give it a chance. Sometimes it can be a rough start (especially if it's your first time playing a game), but it gets better with time.

If you want to leave a game on BGA (unlike in person...) it is difficult to do so without affecting the other players. If all players agree to quit, then you can Collectively Abandon the game and everyone can move on. Sometimes you can abandon a game on BGA and the other players can continue playing without you. In other rare cases, please notify the host and we can see what the best course of action might be.

In general, it's a good idea to ask about a game before joining. We don't want to match people up with games they don't enjoy. The point is to have as much fun as possible!

Q: What platforms are being used?

Zoom will be required (free), and is available on most OS, including MacOS, Windows, Linux, iPhone, and Android. You can download that here:

You will also need to create your account on BGA (free), and it is Chrome-browser based - usable on all platforms and devices. It is recommended to have a PC or a tablet for the best experience, but many games also have a fairly decent mobile interface as well. You can create your account here:
