Functional English Lessons -Real English for Real Situations

Do you struggle in real-life situations, even when you know the words? These £5 online English lessons focus on practical, everyday communication.

Sessions are led by a CELTA-qualified English teacher with over ten years’ experience, teaching adults in Japan and the UK (BSc English Language & Communication; MSc Speech & Language Therapy). Students learn through short videos of real interactions, ordering dialogues, memorising useful phrases, and guided role play.

In this session, we’ll focus on using English in a hotel — from checking in and asking questions, to dealing with problems and making requests. You’ll learn useful, natural phrases, watch short examples of real interactions, and practise speaking through guided role play to help you feel more confident in real situations.

This is a relaxed space to practise with people from around the world. Speaking activities take place in breakout rooms, so cameras must be switched on during these parts of the session. Unfortunately, if you’re unable to use your camera, you won’t be able to join the breakout rooms.
