Weekly Online Japanese Conversation Event! Topic: TBD

This is an online weekly meetup group for Japanese learners of advanced to intermediate level who wants to practice conversation skills with other like-minded people. This is a great opportunity to practice Japanese in a relaxed space, make mistakes, ask questions, and have fun together. Discussion topics vary by week and will be posted two days before the event!

Who should join this event?

Any intermediate to advanced level Japanese speaker/learner who is interested in using Japanese in real time! Beginners or those who want to see what the group is like can join as a listener. Note: This is not a class, it is a space to practice the Japanese you know and learn from others in the class.

What will you do at the event?

Participants will be split into breakout rooms, where you can discuss the topic of the week in smaller groups using an event sheet with pre-made discussion questions. There will be two break-out room sessions, and in between, there is a time to summarize what each group talked about.

What should you bring?

- Please bring the event document which is posted two days before the event.

- A notebook or somewhere to take notes if you'd like. This is useful so you can ask questions later or write down new words or words you'd like to look up later.

Other things that you should know:

It's very important to arrive on time, as there is some explaining and organizing at the beginning. Late arrivals may not be accommodated especially newcomers.

This event is a conversation get-together and not a direct lesson. Please read the learning tips in the event document to get the most out of it. Since this is a volunteer group event, you may not get as much speaking time as you wish. There may be a wide range of Japanese levels in the breakout rooms, but I believe all of us can learn from each other!
