D&D 5E: The Roots of Evil

Details

This is a Zoom session for Levels 1-4 PCs. Beginners are welcome!
Your Quest group consists of Good-aligned PCs whose deities guide your Campaign to save the World of Greyhawk from domination by evil supernaturals of immense power.

Kanos, headmaster at the Kanos School of Adventuring from which you graduated, and his professors of magic, weaponry, lore, stealth, and many other skills, have prepared you for this Quest with special abilities.

Last Session: The session began as the group stood outside the breeding cave of giant spiders that the group had incinerated with arcane fire from the magical tinderbox Centurio gave them.
Despite the smoke, heat and stench from the burnt spiders, the group saw that many of the dead newborn spiders were mutated.
Only one newborn spider survived. It was black and about 8 inches long. It crawled slowly toward the group.
Upon reaching the group, it breathed cones of fire that nearly killed some group members before they killed it. It was a mutant born of the abyssal essence of the new Daemon Lord Sza’grath.
As the group continued searching for the source of the mutations, they were attacked by a mutation formed by a swarm of bats that had merged into one creature.
After defeating the bat mutation, the group was ambushed from behind by giant spiders and Ettercaps.
The gnome wizard Blink was killed and the cleric Sidekick was near death before the group prevailed. Blink was saved by a timely Revivify spell.
After seeking divine help from Saint Cuthbert, the group found the lair of a mutated Ettercap with two heads and four arms. He was able to deliver four strikes per turn. The group killed him after a difficult battle.
Blink used his trizub to “speak with dead” and learned that the Ettercap resented the mutations. He told the group the source of the mutations was the “roots of evil” that were growing further inside the tunnels. To succeed, they would have to fight Sza’grath and his minions.

The next session will begin at this point.
Do you want to join them?

Please respond as early as possible so we can prepare this custom scenario. If you are a new player, we will need to integrate your PC into the scenario at least 2 weeks before the session.
