D&D 5E: The Roots of Evil, Part 7

This is a Zoom session for Levels 1-4 PCs. Beginners are welcome!
Your Quest group consists of Good-aligned PCs whose deities guide your Campaign to save the World of Greyhawk from domination by evil supernaturals of immense power.

Kanos, headmaster at the Kanos School of Adventuring from which you graduated, and his professors of magic, weaponry, lore, stealth, and many other skills, have prepared you for this Quest with special abilities.

Last Session: The group continued searching for the roots of evil todestroy the abyssal essencethat was was turning creatures evil in the daemon lord's underground domain. They cornered a Myconid and a Quaggoth servant in the back of a 120’ cavern. Suddenly, a Darkness spell fell upon the front four of them. Inside the Darkness, Nephil (P), Blink (M), and Sidekick (C) were attacked by Quaggoth Myconid Servants, who have Blindsight.
Soon, Blink was unconscious, Nephil was killed, and Sidekick and Valeria were down to a few hit points. Sidekick also was running out of healing spells.
Due to Nephil’s intense feeling that he had unfinished business regarding this quest, Nephil’s spirit rose as a Ghost and re-joined the fight against the Quaggoths.
The tide was turned and the group survived. Fortunately, there was just enough time to use a Revivify spell on Nephil, and return him to life. Unfortunately, the sight of the Ghost horrified the elf fighter Valeria and caused her to age 70 years.
When the group moved toward the next cavern, the darkness disappeared. Aragon tracked drow elf footprints to another cavern where they heard a drum beating every few seconds.
When they entered the cavern, they saw nearly 30 Myconids paying homage to a large Myconid sitting on a throne on a raised platform on the other end of the cavern. He appeared to be the Myconid Sovereign. Myconids brought Myconid Sprouts to him, which he either transformed into adult Myconids if they were infused with Abyssal essence, or ate them if they were not.
The session ended and will resume at this point next time.
