Being Your Own Best Ally - Mini Workshop

Details

Many people are hard on themselves - high expectations and low tolerance for mistakes and failures.

This is often due to a strong inner critic - an inner voice of self-criticism that stops you from feeling ok about yourself, especially in difficult and important situations. Hence the saying that you can be your own worst enemy.

In this practical mini-workshop I will be taking you through exercises that develop a supportive, understanding and caring inner voice. This voice can positively challenge you to learn and grow, but without beating you down every time you make a mistake.

We will use the tools of guided meditation, introspection and aspirational affirmation to give you an experience of what your supportive inner voice sounds and feels like, and how to access it. This will enable you to continue cultivating positive, compassionate and motivational self-talk in your everyday life to gradually displace the critical self-talk. This is an essential step on the path of becoming your own best ally.

There will be time for Q&A and a group discussion to hear about other people's experiences. We'll serve some dark chocolate during the break.

The event will start at 6:15pm (no latecomers) and finish around 8:30pm.

Events like this often attract good like-minded people who share a common interest in personal growth. We will keep the venue open until 9pm for those who want to mingle and socialise - it’s a great opportunity to continue the conversations from the event and maybe even make a new friend or two.

Note: this event is also promoted through our new meetup group Meaningful Connections Meetup.
