### Details
Come and join us this week as we begin a new study of the Gospel of Matthew, starting with Chapter 1.
Matthew’s Gospel presents Jesus as the long-awaited Messiah — the one who fulfils the promises of the Old Testament. Written with a Jewish audience in mind, it’s filled with rich teaching, prophecy, and parables. This Gospel invites us to see Jesus not only as a teacher and healer, but as the King of a radically different Kingdom — one built on mercy, justice, and inner transformation.
Studying the Bible helps us deepen our understanding of God’s word and apply it meaningfully to our lives.
### Session plan
- Welcome and introduction
- Opening prayer
- Read through the chapter as a group — please bring your Bible (any version)
- Work through the Community Bible Study (CBS) guide questions
- Closing prayer
This is not an academic study. We use the CBS questions to guide our reflections and encourage group discussion. If you have time before the session, consider reading the chapter and noting any words or ideas that stand out to you.
Everyone is welcome — whether you’re a lifelong Christian or exploring faith for the first time. Sessions last one hour and are held weekly on Tuesdays. If you’d like to join us, please confirm your attendance and we’ll send you the Zoom link and study guide.
Best wishes on your journey of faith.
(This group is non-denominational and open to all who want to explore the Gospel together.)
