Haliburton Wolf Centre and Sculpture Forest Adventure
Saturday, August 1, 2026
Join us for a fantastic summer day exploring the beautiful Haliburton Highlands, one of Ontario's most scenic regions. This unique adventure combines incredible wildlife, stunning Canadian landscapes and one of the province's most fascinating outdoor art experiences.
Our first stop is the Haliburton Wolf Centre, home to a small pack of magnificent Gray Wolves. From the Centre's large one way observation windows, we'll have the opportunity to watch and photograph these incredible animals behaving naturally in their forest habitat. Seeing wolves this close is an unforgettable experience and offers a rare glimpse into the lives of one of Canada's most iconic predators.
The Wolf Centre also features informative exhibits where you'll learn about wolf behaviour, ecology, conservation and the important role wolves play in healthy ecosystems. Before we leave, we'll have time to browse the excellent nature-themed gift shop.
After our visit, we'll enjoy lunch at the nearby Cookhouse Restaurant, a favourite local stop known for its welcoming atmosphere and great food.
Our adventure continues at the beautiful Haliburton Sculpture Forest, a hidden gem nestled among towering pines. This peaceful forest features more than 40 remarkable sculptures created by Canadian artists, all thoughtfully placed along easy walking trails. Around every bend you'll discover another unique work of art blending beautifully with the natural surroundings. It's the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing walk, photograph the sculptures and soak in the tranquility of the Haliburton Highlands.
The drive itself is part of the adventure. We'll travel scenic back roads through the rugged Canadian Shield, passing forests, lakes and rolling hills that make this one of Ontario's most beautiful regions. As always, we'll keep our eyes open for wildlife along the way. Deer, Wild Turkeys, birds of prey and other wildlife are always possibilities
This is an easy-paced tour suitable for most participants. We'll enjoy several short walks at both locations, so comfortable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended.
We will depart from the Finch Subway Station passenger pickup area at 8:00 a.m. sharp and expect to return to Toronto at approximately 5:00 p.m.
