# Algonquin Park Wildlife Adventure

There's something special about Algonquin Park. Every visit is different, and that's what keeps us coming back year after year. We've had many amazing wildlife encounters over the years, and every trip has the potential to surprise us.
If you've ever dreamed of the possibility to see Moose or Black Bear in the wild, this is the trip for you.

Our main goal for the day will be finding Moose and Black Bears while exploring some of Algonquin Park's best wildlife areas. Summer is an excellent time to see Moose feeding along roadsides, ponds, and wetlands. We may encounter cows with calves, or impressive bull Moose already growing their massive velvet antlers.
Black Bears are also regularly seen throughout the park at this time of year as they come out to feed on blueberries. For many people, seeing a wild bear for the first time is a life-changing experience. I've spent years working around Black Bears and can honestly say they are fascinating animals that deserve our respect, not our fear.

Of course, wildlife is never predictable, and that's part of the adventure. Over the years our Algonquin trips have also produced Algonquin Wolves, River Otters, Beavers, Red Foxes, White-tailed Deer, American Martens, and countless birds.

As summer progresses, southbound migrants begin appearing alongside the park's resident species, making for excellent birding as well.
One advantage of joining this trip is experience. I have spent a great deal of time in Algonquin Park over the years and stay in contact with people throughout the park who let me know where wildlife has recently been active. Seeing wildlife is all about being in the right place at the right time, and that's exactly what this tour is designed to do.

We'll leave Toronto at 7:00 a.m., arriving in Algonquin Park around 10:00 a.m., giving us late morning and quite a bit of the afternoon to explore while actively looking for wildlife.

We'll stop for lunch at the famous Algonquin Visitor Centre, where you can enjoy one of the park's most spectacular panoramic views. Please bring your own lunch and snacks as there is only snacks available at the Visitor's Centre.

This is a medium-paced outing with several short walks as we search different habitats throughout the day. We'll take our time whenever we encounter wildlife, giving everyone plenty of opportunities to observe and photograph the animals.
While no wildlife sightings can ever be guaranteed, all of the photographs shown on this page were taken on previous trips, and Algonquin Park remains one of Canada's premier destinations for seeing Moose in the wild.
