What we're about

Established in 2010, On The Ropes is focused on bringing jump rope to a wider market and educate people on how to skip correctly so they can maximise the benefits of this for improving fitness or sports performance. We're looking to do this in person and bring the training to you. We're already in two cities and seeing how far we can take it.

I will be running a number of classes as well as welcoming any ideas from the group for any specific classes or courses they want run.

In the past I have run Floyd Mayweather masterclasses for those looking to jump rope like boxers or like Mayweather himself. Having seen the man train up close myself, I was able to dissect the moveset and taught the system.

There have been double under seminars as well as classes focusing on tricks like jump rope crosses.

The original jump rope fitness class is back!
This has been the longest running weekly Jump Rope Fitness/Skills class in Europe!

Started in 2010 when people in the gym would ask me to teach them some of my jump rope skills in a class format (I was only doing 1-1's) I created this class using what is usually a warm up in boxing and create an entire fitness class around it.
Focusing on developing jump rope skills as well improving vital bio-motor abilities such as speed, agility, coordination, lower body power and endurance.

Mulberry Leisure Centre, every Tuesday at 7pm.

Class structure:
The class is made up of intervals of approximately 2 minutes each.
There is a a joint mobility and dynamic warmup component, followed up by a basic jump rope tutorial before heading into the main workout composed of intervals of skipping with bodyweight exercises, drills and group exercises and games. Each interval will focus on developing different abilities which you will see improve as you progress in each class.

Do whatever you can at your own pace. Alternatives and regressions will be suggested if you're not comfortable doing certain movements.

Equipment and facilities:
Jump ropes are provided. I use Buddy Lee Jump Ropes being the only and official supplier of these in Europe of the oldest and most reputable jump rope brand in the world.
I've been using these ropes for around 15 years and here's your opportunity to use these yourself.
I also have these for sale for those interested.

Prices and booking:
Classes are £10 per session per person and can be paid in advance via paypal or cash at class.
