Basics of how Texas does its water planning, including important terminology Short demo/how to navigate and interpret the 2017 State Water Plan application Summary of API endpoints in the 2017 State Water Plan application Technology behind the application Bios: James is currently a software engineer at 18F, an office inside the General Services Administration that helps other federal agencies build, buy, and share efficient and easy-to-use digital services. Previously, he was the lead software developer at the Texas Natural Resources Information System, a division of the Texas Water Development Board. James is also a co-organizer of MaptimeATX, a beginner-focused meetup about making maps.

Bonus Topic: City of Austin’s newly created Office of Performance Management.

Kimberly Springer-Olivares is heading up the City of Austin’s newly created Office of Performance Management. The presentation will be a quick introduction to the new office and preview plans to ditch PDF reports and make it easier for Austin residents to see how the City is performing using open data and visualizations.

The program starts at 7pm.
