Welcome to Open Ballet with Calvin! đź©°
This group is for anyone interested in exploring ballet in an open, supportive, and body-positive environment — no judgment, no pressure, just movement, music, and growth.
I’m Calvin, a ballet teacher, performer, and choreographer based in Connecticut, and I’m passionate about helping adults reconnect with their bodies through dance. These classes are geared toward intermediate movers, but beginners and returning dancers are absolutely welcome. I offer plenty of modifications and encouragement to meet you where you are.
Classes focus on musicality, technique, strength, and flow, with a vibe that’s more community class than conservatory. Wear what you feel comfortable dancing in — there’s no dress code or uniform here, and we love legwarmers, old dancewear, and cozy socks just as much as slippers and tights.
All bodies, all backgrounds, all genders, all levels of experience are welcome here.
Most classes are $20 drop-in and take place at local studios in the Hartford area. RSVP to stay in the loop about upcoming classes and studio updates!

Join me for an open adult ballet class on Friday, May 16th from 5:00 to 6:30 PM at Toriography Dance Center (520 Hartford Turnpike, Vernon, CT)!
This is an intermediate-level class, but dancers of all experience levels are welcome. Whether you’re returning to ballet after years away, just getting started, or already dancing regularly, this is a space to move, grow, and connect with your body in a supportive environment. I always offer modifications and am happy to meet you where you’re at.
Expect a full barre and some center work, with a focus on musicality, strength, and flow. The energy is casual and encouraging, not overly formal — and you can wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and free to move. (Legwarmers, biker shorts, T-shirts, old dancewear… all welcome.)
Class is $20. Payment is not collected through Eventbrite, but you can pay when you arrive via:
