About us
Do you find yourself “just browsing” Zillow at 11:47 p.m. even though you are absolutely not emotionally, financially, or spiritually prepared to buy a house?
Same.
Welcome to Open House Hop, a casual group for first-time homebuyers, future homebuyers, architecture nerds, neighborhood explorers, HGTV overthinkers, and anyone who enjoys walking through open houses while pretending they know what “good bones” means. Maybe, some investors too!
We’ll tour public open houses, check out different neighborhoods, compare layouts, judge backsplash choices with unnecessary confidence, and learn what actually matters when buying a home. Think: part social outing, part real estate education, part group therapy for people traumatized by interest rates.
This group is for you if:
You want to buy a home someday but do not know where to start.
You are actively house hunting and want company, perspective, or moral support.
You enjoy seeing how other people live and silently rating their kitchen islands.
You want to learn about neighborhoods, pricing, inspections, financing, red flags, and what “cozy” really means in listing language.
You have ever said, “Wait, they want how much for that?”
We are not here to pressure anyone, spam anyone, or turn every meetup into a sales pitch. Realtors, lenders, inspectors, and other pros are welcome only if they can act like normal humans and not hunt people like prey on LinkedIn.
Ground rules: we only attend public open houses or arranged tours, we respect agents and homeowners, we do not snoop through medicine cabinets, and we leave every home exactly as we found it, except with more opinions.
Come for the houses. Stay for the hot takes. Leave with better questions, smarter instincts, and maybe a new favorite neighborhood.
