R tm hands-on tutorial by Ingo Feinerer

This is NOT a traditional meetup event. The hands-on tutorial is about 6 hours (including breaks)!

Ingo Feinerer (http://www.dbai.tuwien.ac.at/staff/feinerer/) obtained his PhD in computer science at TU Vienna in 2007 and he obtained a PhD in business administration at the WU Vienna in 2008. He was a visiting scholar at the Carnegie Mellon University. Currently, he is an assistant professor at the Databases and Artificial Intelligence Group of the TU Vienna.

We'd love to organize a tutorial that brings together people with various backgrounds. Professionals, researchers, students are welcome from any cognate disciplines (e.g. computer science, maths, linguistics, and engineering).

Before you register

this is an English-speaking event (at least, you should be able to follow a technical talk, better if you can ask questions and participate in the conversation) you have to bring your own laptop (and some snacks!) you have to get acquainted with R before the event (e.g. starting R, using your editor with R and etc. we provide some technical help if you are using a popular OS like Ubuntu or Windows) previous programming experience required (an introduction to programming course is enough) please read our short post in Hungarian (R tutorial előtt (http://szamitogepesnyelveszet.blogspot.hu/2012/06/r-tutorial-elott.html)) on R, tm and tools you need to know to follow the tutorial the attendees limit will be adjusted to your needs so drop us an email if the event is full and you really want to come About R and the tm package
