Open Lab Wednesday: Bringing Life to the Stars

Details
Currently every space mission to date has relied on supplies from the surface of earth. Everything the astronauts need, they bring with them. The ISS requires tons of food and water to be lifted to it on a regular basis. If we, as a species, ever want to venture deeper into the cosmos, we will need to sever our umbilical cord with the bounty of Earths biosphere. We will need to learn how to supply ourselves using the resources available to us in space. Join OSN's Ian Johnson as he discusses the techniques and systems in development for supporting life beyond low earth orbit.
