Come meet us in this gathering of the Israeli Free & Open Source Software community. Here we can mingle, network and learn from each other - anything related to free and open source software.

This meeting starts up a monthly meetup, surrounding the yearly August Penguin conference.

Note: This first instance of the meetup will start with a general assembly of Hamakor. The assembly is open to the public, and includes a presentation about the organization. But if you prefer to skip it, you can arrive at 19:20, directly to the main talk.

The testing pyramid is wrong - let's fix it!
Are you writing productive tests? I doubt that: it's hard to write tests that are fast, cover business logic and don't break when code is refactored. Unfortunately, in the context of microservices, the famous testing pyramid is leading us to a non-productive world. In this session I'll talk about productive and effective testing, with fast feedback loops, as well as some testing smells that should be avoided. By the end of this session, you'll be able to write both productive and valuable tests, and you'll also reduce the amount of tests you already have.

Ron Klein is a software architect at Riskified, leading ultra-wide R&D projects and promoting technical standardization. In his free time, Ron contributes to the NodeJS open source community, runs his own technical blog ([ronklein.co.il](https://heblog.ronklein.co.il/)) and acts as a mentor for career management for software engineers. In between he loves watching movies and listening to music and podcasts.
