AGENDA
17:30 // Food, drinks and networking
18:00 // Welcome and introduction // Colin Eberhardt and Oliver Cronk, Scott Logic
18:05 // 'APIs: Built on Open Source Foundations' // Jonathan Haggarty
Jonathan has been building APIs at NatWest for the last five years and is on a mission to make them a truly API-first organisation. This talk explores how the culture and capabilities that have been created share a common foundation with Open Source and why that’s been pivotal to their success. Come along to gain some insight into this interesting intersection.
18:40 // Break
19:00 // 'Amazon Corretto: Back to the Future' // Ricardo Sueiras
Amazon Corretto is an open source, upstream distribution of OpenJDK. In this talk I will talk about its origins and why we created it, explore some examples of why the OpenJDK is still very relevant today and how Amazon is helping to drive the OpenJDK forward, and why it has never been a better time to be a Java developer.
19:30 // Event close/networking drinks
