Open Source Edinburgh // Journey to OSPO + Open Source AI

Details
Register your place for Open Source Edinburgh on 05 October at Lloyds Banking Group's Port Hamilton building (the old Scottish Widows building). The event is taking place as part of the Scottish Fintech Festival and we hugely appreciate Lloyds's hospitality in hosting us.
The night will start with Lloyds OPSO's Technical Delivery Manager, Praveen Kanwal and Technical Lead, Daniele Casal, giving a fascinating talk on the group's journey to setting up an Open Source Programme Office, Our Journey Building an Open Source Programme Office (a 2-Year Retrospective).
You'll discover how Lloyds went from embracing open source to thriving in the world of collaboration, innovation, and community engagement, as well as the key challenges and milestones they encountered to get to that point.
To follow will be Scott Logic's Open Source AI sessions, where CTO, Colin Eberhardt will give a brief talk on the foundational concepts and what's new with Generative AI, before an overview of Scott Logic's R&D projects in LLM powered applications both internally and in Financial Services.
Software Developer, Heather Logan and Associate Developer, Doro Hinrichs, will then explore the security risks to LLMs, demonstrating their own web app which provides a sandbox for experimenting with prompt injection attacks and mitigations.
Audience Q&A's will follow both Lloyds and Scott Logic sessions.
The agenda is as follows:
- 5:30pm - Doors open
- 6:00pm - Talks begin
- 7:15pm - Talks end
- 8:00pm - Doors close
- 8:00pm - 10pm - Area booked at Malone's Pub for drinks and networking, 242 Morrison Street
