Poznan Open Source Meetup #13 is almost here!

Calling all open source enthusiasts! Join us on November 26th for an evening full of open source technology with the Poznan computer engineering community.

The meetup will feature two technical presentations covering the latest open source projects and innovations, followed by a Q&A session where you can ask questions and dive deeper into the presented topics.

Agenda:

1. ‘Documenting’ binaries with Ghirda and Renode; Kamil Rakoczy, Antmicro

Have you ever found an executable from an unknown source that you didn't fully trust, but you still wanted to check what it does? You don't have the patience (or time) to analyze assembly, but you know the basics of C? Then this talk is for you!
In this presentation we'll talk about how to use the Ghidra Software Reverse Engineering (SRE) tool that was developed by the National Security Agency (NSA). We'll show in practice what you can do with it, and we'll introduce Girdl, a Ghidra plugin that focuses on problems unique to embedded development by leveraging existing Renode tooling.

2. Analyzing traces, resources and execution of AI models in applications running in Zephyr RTOS; Eryk Szpotanski, Antmicro

In this talk we’ll focus on analyzing Zephyr RTOS applications in terms of used resources and execution flow. We will demonstrate how we can analyze the built binary, how we can use the tracing subsystem to generate traces for selected functions and parts of code and how traces are collected and delivered to the host device in Zephyr RTOS.
We will also demonstrate our recent contributions to Zephyr RTOS - the instrumentation subsystem allowing us to generate fine-grained traces of functions with help of compiler’s features, Zephelin library and Trace Viewer. We will show how Zephelin can be used to generate and collect traces from Zephyr applications, with additional analysis of CPU Load, memory usage and AI runtimes such as TensorFlow Lite Micro or microTVM. We will also show how to visualize all of the above data using Trace Viewer.
