Test Automation with Appium and Taurus

Details
Join us for our first meetup in London, as we will examine 2 open source test automation tools - Appium and Taurus, feature the creators of each tool!
We are glad to have Dan Cuellar, creator of Appium, an open-source tool for automating native, mobile web, and hybrid applications on iOS and Android platforms, as well as Andrey Pokhilko, creator of Taurus, an open source framework for continuous testing which helps you by hiding the complexities of running performance tests.
When writing test automation, one of the most important factors for determining the amount of time and resources it will consume (and ultimately the success or failure of the endeavor) is the testability of the application. Dan Cuellar’s talk will cover strategies for maximizing the automatability of the application by writing highly automobile user interfaces for mobile and web, writing a test plan designed for parallelization and concurrency, and by choosing the best techniques to reliably and quickly set up test scenarios.
We will then turn hear from Andrey Pokhilko, who will give a general overview of Taurus, as well as show some examples of how Taurus can run Appium. Andrey will share why Taurus was created, and the problems it helps to solve, He will also show how it works to simplify and enhance several leading open source testing tools, including Apache JMeter, Gatling, Selenium, and more (including Appium). Finally, he will show how to use those same scripts for automated testing with thresholds and alerts, and how to scale your testing and integrate it with CI Tools like Jenkins.
