It’s almost DNC time! This month OpenAccessPHL (http://openaccessphl.com/) and Generocity (http://generocity.org/philly/), are hosting a night of Democracy-laden excitement.

We’ll be combining forces for one big, united meetup so we can free up everyone’s schedules for summer fun before the DNC frenzy. Featuring lightning talks from leaders around the city, we will have speakers galore getting all of us excited to host the political event of the year, all speaking around the theme of DEMOCRACY. Nonprofits and for-profits alike will be speaking about their initiatives to support voting, democratic workplaces, and civic engagement.

• David Thornburgh, Committee of Seventy's President and CEO, will set the stage for American Experiments, a nonpartisan showcase of civic tech and democracy innovations during the DNC

• Robert Cheetham, Azavea / American Experiments

• Kathryn Killebrew, Code for Philly / American Experiments

• Nick Marzano, Board President of Young Involved Philadelphia, will outline their goals for an upcoming StorySlam on working inside the city’s so-called political machine.

• Nicole Koedyker, cofounder of Forsei Consulting, will talk about trends in B Corp legislation

• Antoine Haywood, Director of Membership and Outreach at public access media group PhillyCAM, will discuss their role in the Comcast franchise agreement.
