An evening with Michel Bauwens of the Peer to Peer Foundation

Michel Bauwens is a Peer to Peer theorist, academic and speaker. He collaborates with a global network of researchers exploring peer production, peer governance, peer property and open, participatory, commons-oriented modes of cooperation and sharing.

Peer to peer or egalitarian networking is a new form of relationship that is emerging throughout society and profoundly transforming the way in which human civilization is organised.

Join Michel in conversation with Darren Sharp and Daryl Taylor at The Augustine Centre, 2 Minona St Hawthorn.

$5 cover charge payable at the door.

6:30 - 8pm Tuesday 18 September 2012.

A great evening, thanks Darren et al - well worth braving a cold damp evening in the burbs to be introduced to Michel's work.

I have an unresolved uncertainty I've written up this morning - I'm not sure where best to ask it. Perhaps anybody that cares to could post their thoughts here? I'm struggling to piece together the different players and roles in the commons-oriented economics Michel is espousing - in particular, what the role of the 'enterprise layer' is. I've posted in more detail here:

I will spend some time on p2pfoundation now and let you know if I find an answer.

Michel spoke to the Victorian Public Service Continuous Improvement and Innovation Network (VPSCiiN) yesterday. What a revelation ... if you are sitting on the fence get to this. The scope, scale and importantly the moment (now) of which he speaks is nothing short a tipping point for human liberation and growth. I am excited, very very excited!
