Building a Highly-Available OpenStack Cloud

Building a Highly-Available OpenStack Cloud

Details

NEW to OpenStack??? Our November session is powered by SUSE and will be of interest if you are looking to learn about OpenStack fundamentals and more!

Are you interested in OpenStack, but intimidated by the complexity of making sure it stays alive? Traditionally, building a highly-available OpenStack deployment has been a time-intensive and complicated process. We'll start with an introduction to the basics of OpenStack and then move on to a discussion about the considerations involved in achieving maximum uptime, and what SUSE is doing to make it easier.

This will be a GREAT session for all Austin OpenStack MeetUp members who are somewhat new to OpenStack and looking to get under the covers and learn about the inner workings of OpenStack quickly.

Our speaker Rick Ashford is a long time supporter of the Austin meetup and in this session Rick will share his wealth of experience working with OpenStack in the the real world on real deployments! Rick is an OpenStack specialist with SUSE and in this role he engages with customers in consultative dialog to design and develop strategies for embracing open cloud technologies.

Reminders:

• There will be light dinner courtesy of SUSE ~ 6:15pm - networking time till about 6:45pm - we will kick off the speaking sessions ~ 6:45pm.

• If you are interested in giving a Lightening Talk shoot us a note with a topic or just come to the session ready to speak and let us know about your topic when you arrive!
