Project Manila in the house!

Project Manila in the house!

Details

Let's get after Manila in our June Meetup!

Our June session will be co-sponsored by NetApp. Our lead presentation provides a primer and overview of Manila, the OpenStack File Shares Service. Manila is an officially incubated, community-driven project that coordinates the management of shared and distributed file systems as-a-service.

Manila currently integrates with a variety of storage platforms & protocols, as well as provides a Linux NFS reference implementation. It represents the OpenStack equivalent (and predecessor) to the recently announced AWS Elastic File Share service (EFS).

This session provides:

• An introduction, overview, and demonstration of Manila, discussing its architecture through use case examples

• Details of what’s new in Kilo, and discusses areas of focus as it moves towards graduation (with particular emphasis on Liberty).

Reminders:

NEW LOCATION - Tech Ranch has moved to 8920 Business Park Dr, Suite 250 , Austin, TX, 78759.

This is just down the street from the previous location on Jollyville Rd.

Look for the building with the "Meritage Homes" sign.

• There will be light dinner courtesy of NetApp ~ 6:15pm - with networking time till about 6:45pm - we will kick off the speaking sessions ~ 6:45pm.

• If you are interested in giving a Lightening Talk shoot us a note with a topic or just come to the session ready to speak and let us know about your topic when you arrive! Lightening talks are SHORT 5-10 min. max. on a topic of interest to the OpenStack community.
