OpenStack on Kubernetes - automated!

Details
Our March OpenStack Meetup will be very interesting! The session will be led by Rob Hirschfeld and Greg Althaus of the RackN (https://rackn.com/) team and we will review the landscape for blending OpenStack and Kubernetes (K8s) deployments aka deploying containerized Openstack services via Kubernetes. Yes, its real and and it actually works. This effort has the goal of building a general purpose, enterprise grade, upgradable K8s and OpenStack infrastructure.
We will explore an integrated deployment that lays down Kubernetes using Kargo and then adds OpenStack via Helm. The session will delve into key technical challenges like using Cinder for K8s storage or Neutron for K8s networking. We'll also discuss the ramifications to the OpenStack community if Kubernetes becomes the standard underlay.
Rumor has it that - there might even be a live demo in the session where Rob will build a live cluster.
Rob Hirschfeld has been involved in OpenStack since the earliest days with a focus on ops and building the infrastructure that powers cloud and storage. He's also co-Chair of the Kubernetes Cluster Ops SIG and a four term OpenStack board member. Rob is a regular speaker at OpenStack Summits about items including SDN, interop and running Kubernetes. Greg Althaus, holds several patents and in his current role as founder and CTO of RackN. he brings over 25 years of experience of designing, building, and delivering large systems involving networking, security, and system operations. With stints at big companies (IBM, Dell, NetApp) and start-ups (TimesN, Mirage Networks, Newisys), Greg brings a wealth of experience in management and product leadership to RackN.
