What we’re about
The OpenInfra User Group Nuremberg is a dynamic community of technology enthusiasts and professionals dedicated to exploring and contributing to the Open Infrastructure ecosystem. This group fosters collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation among its members, focusing on open-source technologies and their practical applications in the Nuremberg area.
The OpenInfra User Group Nuremberg is particularly interested in the following projects of the OpenInfra Foundation:
- Airship: This project focuses on making lifecycle management for open infrastructure simple, repeatable, and resilient. Airship is a suite of interoperable, loosely coupled open source tools that automate cloud provisioning and lifecycle management in a declarative and predictable way, mainly implementing a declarative platform to integrate OpenStack on Kubernetes.
- Kata Containers: This project aims to deliver increased container security and workload isolation through lightweight virtual machines, offering secure and lightweight CRI compatible virtualized containers.
- OpenStack: Known for creating private and public clouds, OpenStack is a software project powering numerous cloud data centers worldwide. It focuses on providing programmable infrastructure for VMs, containers, and bare metal, making it one of the top active open source projects globally.
- StarlingX: This project provides a complete cloud infrastructure software stack for the edge, catering to high performance, ultra-low latency applications. It is particularly used in demanding applications in industrial IoT, telecom, and more.
- Zuul: Zuul specializes as a CI/CD platform, designed for gating changes across multiple systems and repositories before consolidating them into a single patch, offering a unique approach to software development and integration.
- OpenInfra Labs: This community-led initiative connects open source projects to production. It focuses on integrating and optimizing different layers of the infrastructure, running open source code in production, and publishing complete, reproducible stacks for existing and emerging workloads.
