About the speakers and topics

Speaker: Ferenc Kukucska, DT-ITS
Ferenc has been working in the Big Data and AI squad for 2 years now and have been in the AI industry since 2017. He graduated as an electrical engineer but at the university he got involved more and more AI
projects such as recommendation systems, intelligent search engines built from studies, smart camera
systems using Raspberry Pis, chatbot development using NLPs, image classification and generation using CNNs and GANs.

Topic: Build an AI pipeline (in ModelArts) on top of OpenStack
Ferenc’s demo is about our openstack based modelarts automation pipeline. You will see the result of an automation script that just invokes openstack commands and replaces those lots of clickings we would do
when creating a full AI pipeline on the console GUI, so this solution will be automated and much faster.
He is going to create a dataset, label it, after that comes the creation of a training job from the labeled dataset then a model from that train job and finally deploy the model as a real-time service.

Speaker: Nils Magnus, T-Systems International
Nils is a senior cloud architect for the Open Telekom Cloud at T-Systems International GmbH. He has a 15+ year track record in security management, engineering and had roles in cloud infrastructure based on
Open Source as well as an editor and author for tech magazines. He believes in sustainable data center solutions and cooperative, agile development methods. In his role as an organizer at LinuxTag Association
and the German Unix Users Group, he organizes for more than 15 years conferences and workshops on these topics. Nils Magnus lives in Berlin.
Topic: Automating batch user creation with OpenStack SDK
The OpenStack SDK is a powerful abstraction to talk to a cloud through its API. It takes care of many tedious but necessary steps that an SRE or DevOps engineer really doesn't want to waste their time on.
The SDK performs the authentication, obtains a token, queries the service catalog, and marshals the data.

After a brief installation and architecture overview of the object model, the session shows how cloud and proxy layers are addressed and which data representation is necessary. However, the main part of the
presentation is dedicated to a practical example: The web console can be used to create users in an OpenStack domain, but real DevOps prefer to script this process and import data from a file. This case
study shows how complex tasks can be easily automated with Python and the SDK.
