Hola Barcelona
We’re kicking off the year with energy and strong community vibes - and there’s no better way to do that than getting together in person!

OpenMetadata is coming to Barcelona, and we’d love for you to join us!

This meetup is all about bringing Barcelona’s data community together for real, down-to-earth conversations about metadata, governance, and what it actually takes to build data platforms that scale.

When: March 11, 2026 at 18:00 CET to 21:00 CET

What to expect:

• Special guest: Sequra’s data team sharing their OMD journey
- Ariadna Cuffi, Data Governance Lead - how Sequra operationalized governance and drove real adoption across teams.
- Martín Langberg, Senior Data Engineer - launched the OMD POC.
- Roman Vasilev, built the Claude integration.

• A session with Pere, one of OpenMetadata’s founding engineers
He’ll share behind-the-scenes stories from building OpenMetadata in the open - lessons learned, architectural decisions, and what it really takes to grow an open source data project.

• Open discussion + community sharing
We want this to be interactive. If you’re using OpenMetadata (or exploring it), we’d love for you to share your journey, challenges, or use case.

• Snacks, beer, wine & relaxed networking
After the talk, we keep it informal - good conversations, new connections, and a little bit of cerveza!

This event is about building real momentum for Barcelona’s data ecosystem in 2026 - connecting practitioners who care about metadata, data quality, lineage, governance, and open collaboration.

If you’re open to taking the mic for a few minutes to share your experience, we’d love that too!! If you are interested in presenting at our meetup, please fill out this Call for Speakers!

Let’s build something meaningful together.
See you there.

Friendly reminder, the event starts at 6pm CET - 9pm CET
