OpenStack Neutron Advanced Services Deep Dive

Hello all,

Our November OpenStack Meetup is all about Neutron - more specifically we will deep dive into a number of advanced services in Neutronwith Akanda as our co-sponsor.

Our session will be led by Eric Lopez from Akanda. Eric will deep dive on advanced services such as Routing and Load Balancing in Neutron. We will then drill down into typical service provider network designs and the specific technologies in use such as Linuxbridge. We will discuss Neutron Advanced Services driver model and how it can be useful to Service Providers (and Enterprises) based on our team's experience powering Dream Compute’s networking capabilities using Akanda.

We will review Akanda, an open source suite of software, services, orchestration, and tools for providing L3+ services in OpenStack that builds on top of Linux and OpenStack Neutron.

Eric has over 15 years of experience in information security, distributed systems, networking and virtualization technologies. As a Sr. Solution Architect Eric helps customers implement and integrate networking and OpenStack. Prior to Akanda, Eric joined VMware via Nicira acquisition.

Eric holds Master’s degree in Business Administration from University of San Francisco and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and Nuclear Engineering from University of California, Berkeley.

• DON'T FORGET - for security reasons, the NERD center requires attendees to show a government issued photo ID in order to gain access into the building.

• Parking: Best option for parking is the NERD center parking garage which charges a flat rate after 4pm.
