Introducing BOSH and CloudFoundry

Details

This talk begins with the question: We've got the OpenStack infrastructure setup, now what?

BOSH and CloudFoundry may be an answer for you. These open source projects, developed by VMware and Pivotal, can give any team a plethora of tools to enable their application engineers the capability to create, manage, and extend their own environments.

With BOSH, the devops or reliability engineers can build and confidently deploy distributed systems (a MySQL cluster, an ELK stack). BOSH works well with OpenStack to give built in provisioning and monitoring to any system it manages

CloudFoundry provides application engineers an enterprise grade Platform-as-a-Service where they can deploy the applications and the backend services they require. Provisioning and running an application is made simple, with commands to scale and connect to running containers on the platform.

This introduction will give OpenStack users a taste of the capabilities that come with the BOSH release engineering software and the Cloud Foundry Platform-as-a-Service.
