Hey everyone, join us in Redwood Shores for 2 amazing talks on Containers. Come check out this amazing campus, including the America's Cup Team Oracle Catamaran parked in the lake!

ABSTRACT:
Talk #1 - In this session, we are going to discuss how you can manage your containers on the Oracle Cloud leveraging Oracle Container Engine for Kubernetes (OKE) and OCI Registry service. OKE is a managed Kubernetes service running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). It enables customers to quickly create, manage, and consume Kubernetes Clusters that leverage OCI compute, network and storage services, allowing them to focus on deploying and running their containerized applications without having to deploy and maintain their own container orchestration layer. OKE works in conjunction with the OCI Registry, a highly available Docker v2 container registry service, where customers can store their Docker images to launch containers on OKE.

Talk #2 - Docker containers are great for running stateless microservices, but what about stateful applications such as databases and persistent queues? Kubernetes provides the StatefulSets controller for such applications that have to manage data in some form of persistent storage. While StatefulSets is a great start, a lot more goes into ensuring high performance, data durability and high availability for stateful apps in Kubernetes. We will cover 5 best practices that developers and operations engineers should be aware of. And we will demonstrate how to run a complete E-Commerce application powered by YugaByte DB, when all services are deployed in Kubernetes.

FUN STUFF:
Free $500 Oracle Cloud Credit!!!
On the day of the meetup, we request people to sign in for this offer if they are interested.

SPEAKERS:
