Workshop: Deploy Kubernetes and OpenStack Together with StarlingX

First Open Infrastructure Toronto meetup!

We've rebranded the OpenStack Toronto meetup to follow the OpenStack Foundations lead and have become the Open Infrastructure Toronto Meetup.

At this meetup we will have a workshop that deploys BOTH Kubernetes and OpenStack together using an OpenStack Foundation supported project called StarlingX, see the website for more information: https://starlingx.io

StarlingX is effectively a Kubernetes platform on top of which one can layer applications like OpenStack. StarlingX is particularly interesting because it is useful in situations where there is limited hardware...we can deploy both Kubernetes and OpenStack on as little as a single server, or two servers, or more.

At this meetup we will use public cloud resources provided by Packet.com to deploy StarlingX.

If you don't want to participate in the workshop you can simply listen along as we will be covering the concepts and design choices made by StarlingX.

If you do chose to participate you will need to:

• Have a laptop with WIFI
• Be able to ssh into a remote server (eg. using Putty on Windows)
• Cut and paste commands onto the Linux command line
