Missing Maps mapathon, MLK Weekend of Service

Happy new year! The MLK Weekend of Service is just two weeks away! To honor Dr. King's life and legacy, OSM Seattle is collaborating with the Red Cross to host a Missing Maps mapathon service event at the University of Washington.

If you aren't familiar with the Missing Maps (http://www.missingmaps.org) project, it is a joint project between the American Red Cross, British Red Cross, Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team, and Doctors Without Borders. Its objective is to map the world's most vulnerable places for better crisis response before a crisis occurs. The first step is remote mapping performed by volunteers using OpenStreetMap.

No experience is necessary, but please bring your laptops! We'll be announcing the location within UW soon.
