Want to create maps to help people with limited mobility get around Seattle?
OpenStreetMap Seattle is collaborating with the Taskar Center for Accessibility Technology to host a Map-A-Thon to make that happen.
No experience is necessary, mappers will be split into groups according to whether they want to map by walking around or with a laptop. We are kid-friendly too!
If you want to map with a laptop, while we will have limited spares, please bring one if you can along with a mouse.
After some quick tutorials we will spread out to map sidewalks, safe places for crossing and other important accessibility features!
You’ll be directly building on top of OpenStreetMap to create a map that will be used to help people with limited mobility get around the city of Seattle.
So we hope you can join us, and please bring friends!
P.S. Free pizza and refreshments :)
If you drive, parking is free on Sundays. Just don't park in a spot reserved for university vehicles.
