Happy new year! The MLK Weekend of Service is almost here once again -- just next weekend! To honor Dr. King’s life and legacy of compassion and service, OSM Seattle and the American Red Cross are hosting another Missing Maps service event at the University of Washington.

What Missing Maps is: When disasters happen, first responder organizations (such as the Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders) need maps to make important relief effort decisions. However, most of the world is not on any map! To help, we will be looking at aerial photos, and drawing roads and buildings that we see onto the map.

No experience is necessary, and all you will need to bring is a laptop (though a charger and mouse is really nice to have)! This is the second year we have held this event — please join us and help make it another great success!

Important note: Please take 30 seconds to officially sign up at the following link: https://volunteerconnection.redcross.org/?nd=vms_public_form&form_id=81

(RSVP-ing here is great for starters, but we'd also like to provide an official volunteer count and list to the Red Cross.) Thanks, and hope to see you then!
