Happy summer! It's a great time to get outside in Seattle. Once again we're going to take advantage of the nice weather and improve the map.

If you haven't heard of OSM Notes before, it's a feature on the main OSM website which allows users to place pushpins on the map, along with information or suggestions for improving the map at those spots. (Example: "A new Starbucks coffee shop opened at this location.")

Once a Note has been created, it's up to us (the OSM Seattle Community) to actually update the map with the changes (if there's enough information). Some of the notes are questions, asking for someone to go to the location and find out if the map needs updating.

Here's the idea: Right now, we have a lot of OSM Notes placed all over Seattle. Some of us are going to go out, find the location of the notes and resolve them. But you can help even without going far from home! Check the Notes layer near where you are (see the attached image), and if you have local knowledge, add a comment (in plain English). Or better yet, edit the map directly!

The following link should display the Notes layer in Seattle. http://tinyurl.com/OSM-Notes-Seattle-2017

This one is a "distributed meetup", so feel free to RSVP 'yes', even if you check out a note from home.
