Missing Maps, February
Details
The Red Cross uses OpenStreetMap to provide aid when natural disasters occur. Please join us to find out how you can help save lives halfway around the world with mapping on your laptop, volunteering an hour of your time. No previous experience required!
We could be mapping Tonga (battered by Cyclone Gita just this week), or mapping shelters for refugees in Uganda. There are easy tasks for beginners, as well as more advanced tasks for the more experienced. We’ll do a quick tutorial and get you going. All you need to bring is a laptop (though a charger and mouse are also suggested). We'll be at the Fremont library once again!
In addition to RSVPing here, please sign up with the American Red Cross at the following link. (It's only a couple of questions on a one-page form, so once you press 'Submit', you're registered!)
