OSM is a project of projects; people have different interests/ideas of what permanent features are important to be mapped. This month we can talk about and map features related to some topical projects:

  • Election Day 2020 is coming up soon, and September 22 is National Voter Registration Day. Is your local ballot box on the map? Your closest postbox?
  • September is also National Preparedness Month -- we could, like OSM contributors in France this month, map defibrillators (AED) available around us.
  • 2020 marks the 30th anniversary of the American Disabilities Act, and the 10th anniversary of the Wheelmap Project (an effort to map wheelchair accessible places, based on OSM) - yet another project we can contribute to locally.
