Everyone is talking about makers, digital fabrication, 3D printing, laser cutting, DIY and you’ve heard about these incredible projects they are doing with Arduino, right?
Ok, but what is it exactly? And what can you do with it?
Come to the first OTS "Arduino for beginners" workshop and you will find out while actually building circuits and writing code to make LEDs blink and buzzers sing!
You'll be guided step by step from the installation of the software to building and programming a real electronic musical instrument, plus it's for beginners so previous experience with coding and electronics is not required.
If you've never heard about Arduino before it's an open source platform designed "for artists, designers, hobbyists, and anyone interested in creating interactive objects or environments." (www.arduino.cc)
On top of that it's also an intuitive and fun way to learn programming!
You will need a laptop and an Arduino Starter Kit (with Arduino UNO board) which you can find online here:
or in Berlin here:
If you already own an Arduino kit please be sure you bring the components you can find in this list:
If you own an Arduino Lilypad or are planning to buy one to work on wearable technology, please check this list instead: http://www.kobakant.at/DIY/?p=4268
In case you already own a different Arduino board, or you have interest in buying a different version of Arduino, please write to [masked] before registering so we can try and find a solution for you!
Because the number of seats is limited, it is important that you only sign up if you definitely plan on coming (and do so, too!). If you can't make it for any reason, please cancel your attendance on Meetup right away so your someone on the waiting list can take your place.
Registration for this workshop will open on Tuesday 21st May at 11a.m.
