Meet Tom Loker & Bryan Ilg on Generative AI
Join this conversation to Tom’s and Bryan’s work in generative Artificial Intelligence, their vision for the growth trajectory of AI and related technologies, and the challenges they see on the horizon.
Tom Loker serves as the CEO and Co-Founder of Individual Centricity Corporation (IC-Corp), where he leads the development of “individually centric systems.” These advanced digital platforms are designed to empower users with complete control over their data by integrating cutting-edge artificial intelligence, machine learning, and microprocessor technologies. His work at IC-CORP is driven by the vision of a frictionless digital ecosystem—one that eliminates traditional barriers to security and privacy while ensuring that individuals remain at the center of their digital experiences.
Loker’s intellectual pursuits extend beyond his executive role. As a researcher and thought leader, he delves into the nature of conscious experience through the lens of predictive coding and the Free Energy Principle. In “The illusion of intrinsic meaning: reassessing conscious experience” (Journal of Multiscale Neuroscience, 3(4):246–262, 2024), he argues that what we perceive as intrinsic meaning is, in fact, a functional construct—a cognitive artifact emerging from the brain’s need to minimize prediction errors. This work not only challenges traditional notions of consciousness but also lays the theoretical groundwork for the development of artificial systems that could replicate these adaptive mechanisms without subjective awareness.
