ONLINE: Reactive Java microservices & Improving the onboarding of engineers

Details
Note: this is an online livestream event. If you're looking for the in-person version of this event in Utrecht (NL), please don't sign up for this meetup but RSVP to the in-person event here: https://www.meetup.com/OpenValue/events/286330389/.
We're back to in-person meetups, but that doesn't mean that we'll stop streaming! If you're not able to join this meetup in-person, you can still enjoy a high quality live stream with lots of room for interaction with the speakers.
You can tune in to the stream from the comfort of your home and ask questions via the live chat. A host will monitor the chat for questions and relay them to the speakers.
Deepu K Sasidharan, co-lead of the JHipster project, will kick off, talking about Reactive Java Microservices on Kubernetes with Spring WebFlux, Spring Cloud and JHipster.
Next, Steffan Norberhuis and Elke Salzmann will share how they improved the onboarding process for new engineers at PostNL.
Both talks will be presented in English. RSVP now for an evening of learning and fun!
Since we're combining an in-person event and live stream, the times in the agenda below are indicative. The livestream will follow the pace of the in-person event.
+- 18:30 Talk 1 (see below)
+- 19:30 Break
+- 19:45 Talk 2 (see below)
First talk: "Reactive Java Microservices on Kubernetes with Spring WebFlux, Spring Cloud and JHipster" by Deepu K Sasidharan
Learn how to build Reactive Java microservices easily with Spring WebFlux, Spring Cloud, and JHipster and deploy it to the cloud using Kubernetes. Reactive support in JHipster using Spring WebFlux lets you build powerful reactive applications and microservices easily in a few minutes using JHipster DSL. Spring Cloud makes other aspects of the microservices, like, routing, circuit breaking, etc a breeze. In this session, we will build a reactive microservices application and deploy it to production on the cloud using Kubernetes.

Second talk: "Improving the onboarding of 150 DevOps Engineers in 3 dimensions at PostNL" by Steffan Norberhuis and Elke Salzmann
PostNL set out to bring a huge part of their development in-house with a clear goal: hire 150 engineers. However, after onboarding the first engineers, we saw that we needed to become better at onboarding new engineers. Every team was struggling on their own and not sharing their learnings. So we wrote an in-house guide on improving the onboarding for a new DevOps Engineer drawing from everyone’s experiences. We want to share this guide focusing on three dimensions: technical, social, organizational. The talk is interesting for onboarding at any company size. It covers typical onboarding points, but puts them in a new light as well as adding additional insights.
